Local Scholarship Information

Local Scholarship Winners are announced at Senior Honors Night

All applications are PRINT ONLY. No online submissions. Print the application and fill it out. Make sure you READ all the directions and have ALL the required documents handed in, or it will not count.

Helpful Tips for Students:
  • Use the printer in the library if you need a printer
  • Use BLACK ink for writing on applications
  • ONLY print on ONE side when printing applications (don't print double-sided)
  • Ask Ms. McBride in the COUNSELING OFFICE for HELP if you need it!
  • Scholarship Applications that require a Recommendation:

Give the teacher(s)/outside recommender a copy of the local scholarship letter of recommendation form above. Ask them to write/type a letter of recommendation and ask them to sign it. Letters of recommendation do not have to be in an envelope, but if a teacher gives you a letter in a sealed envelope, DO NOT open the letter for any reason. Letters in the form of an email are NOT ACCEPTED.

Helpful Tips for Letter of Recommendation Writers:

  • Letter of recommendation teachers/outside recommenders must be written or typed by the signee and signed personally. NO ELECTRONIC SIGNATURES.
  • Give the student the letter to include in their scholarship application. (Do NOT include their name in the letter, only their Student ID#
  • If you do not want the student to read your letter, you can seal the letter in a GBHS envelope (for GBHS teachers) and sign your name across the back seal before giving it to the student.
  • If you choose to seal the letter, and they want to use it for multiple applications, please make that many copies and place each in a sealed envelope with the student's name on it before giving it to them.
  • If you agree to write a letter of recommendation, please do so promptly, so the student has adequate time to turn everything in by the due date.
  • The student can use the letter for more than one scholarship - you do not have to write multiple letters for the same student unless you are being specific about what scholarship they are applying for in the letter.
